The Cummins ISL 360 50 is a turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine manufactured by Kama Diesel (АО «Кама Дизель»), a joint enterprise established by KAMAZ and Cummins Inc. to produce Cummins engines in Russia.
Belonging to the L8.9 series, it features an inline six-cylinder architecture with 8.9-liter displacement, a 114 mm bore, and a 145 mm stroke. The engine delivers 360 hp at 2,100 rpm alongside a peak torque of 1,550 N·m at 1,400 rpm, achieved through a Common Rail high-pressure fuel injection system that enables precise, efficient combustion.
The ISL 360 50 meets Euro 5 emission requirements under UNECE Regulation 49-05B2(G), documented in technical bulletin FR96198, making it compliant with the stringent standards applied to heavy-duty commercial vehicles operating in Russia and the CIS. With a dry weight of approximately 707 kg, the engine is engineered for demanding automotive applications — primarily heavy trucks and long-distance buses — where sustained high-load performance and fuel efficiency are critical.
Kama Diesel, headquartered in Naberezhnye Chelny, leverages Cummins' global engineering platform alongside local manufacturing infrastructure to deliver reliable supply chains, spare parts availability, and certified service support throughout the Russian market.
