The stator serves to transfer the load from the concrete shaft of the turbine, the weight of the hydraulic unit parts and the axial water pressure to the plant foundation. The spiral chamber and the guide apparatus are mounted on the stator.
The stator is a welded metal structure made of sectors, consisting of two stator belts and support columns. One of the columns is a spiral tooth.
The support columns have a streamlined profile. The columns are evenly and angularly spaced between the two parallel belts, forming a strong supporting structure for the stator.
