The SVS-series salt and nitrate bath furnace is an industrial electric resistance unit manufactured by MIUS LLC, a Tula-based specialist in electrothermal equipment with more than 30 years of production experience and a recipient of the Russian Government Prize in Science and Technology. The furnace is designed for heat treatment of metal parts and workpieces immersed in a molten salt bath at temperatures up to 1300°C, or in a molten nitrate bath at temperatures up to 700°C, enabling quenching, tempering, annealing, and surface-hardening operations in a controlled, atmosphereless environment.
The assembly consists of a furnace block fitted with spiral resistance heaters wound on ceramic tubes, a welded stainless-steel retort, and a protective flange, all enclosed within a lining of lightweight kaolin fibre and refractory brick. Temperature regulation is provided by MIUS's own MBU-series precision controller, which maintains melt temperature to a stability of ±2°C with uniformity of ±2°C across the entire bath volume.
The controller continuously monitors all power circuits, automatically protecting heating elements against overheating, burnout, open-circuit, and short-circuit faults. Standard installed power reaches up to 100 kW.
Working-space dimensions are configurable from 200 to 5000 mm along each axis, allowing the SVS to serve both compact precision-parts shops and large industrial heat-treatment facilities. Custom configurations are manufactured to individual customer specifications.
