The cable contains a central steel optical module with loosely laid fibres. The optical fibres in the module are grouped into bundles. Each fibre bundle is wrapped with coloured synthetic filament. The free space in the optical module is filled with a hydrophobic gel. A single bundle of reinforcing wires is spirally applied to the central optical module.
