Neon-helium mixture is obtained by extraction from under the condenser lid of a double rectification oxygen apparatus, where gaseous neon and helium are collected, as they liquefy at a lower temperature than nitrogen. The neon-helium mixture is supplied in steel cylinders.
It is used in electric lighting technology as a raw material for the production of neon.
