PKDO® is a nondestructive testing device designed to determine the degree of rotting of wooden supports of power lines. In essence, AQOD® is a dipstick for determining the rottenness of wood and its use is necessary for the timely detection of rotten supports and regular quality control of power line supports in order to prevent the occurrence of ruptures and emergency situations.
The principle of operation of the Wood Decay Detector is based on the control of the hardness of the wood of the support by means of a steel needle. The needle penetrates the support under the action of a calibrated spring, the degree of compression of which can be used to determine the degree of wood decay.
