The coupling is designed for connection and branching of armoured/flexible cables with round cross-section in underground workings of mines and shafts, including dangerous by gas and dust. The coupling has a cylindrical metal case of welded construction, explosion-proof version. Inside the housing there are bus bars with insulator, which are designed for electrical and mechanical connection of conductors.
Structurally, the busbars are made of a brass busbar mounted on a plastic insulator or in an insulator made of self-extinguishing plastic. The cover has a built-in indicator signalling the presence of voltage at the connection terminals. The cover is secured to the housing with non-drop-out bolts.
The enclosure has four internal and one external earthing clamps for earthing the cables to be fed in and the enclosure itself. Cable sealing is carried out by means of cable glands.
