A non-sterile set of small plates made of hard material and bone screws of various sizes, designed to be implanted on broken bone fragments to connect and stabilise the fragments, as well as to protect the bone from mechanical stress during fracture healing. The components are made from material that does not chemically degrade or resorb through the body's natural processes (including implantable metal such as surgical steel, titanium alloy or carbon fibre).
Instruments necessary for implantation may be included. The product is typically used in orthopaedics to treat traumatic or pathological bone fractures; it may also be used to temporarily strengthen bone after lengthening it or for arthrodesis (joint fusion).
This product should be sterilised before use
