The spark defectoscope DKI-3K is designed for qualitative assessment of insulation coating of various pipelines (cables) during construction or in operation.
The presence of air gaps in the insulation or lack of insulation thickness is indicated by electrical breakdown between the electrode of the high-voltage probe and the pipe. In this case, the pipe (cable) is connected to the ground terminal of the device either directly or through the ground.
The test voltage for insulation quality assessment is in the form of short unipolar pulses. Their amplitude is selected by the operator in the control unit and stabilised automatically.
The flaw detector consists of an inspection unit, a high-voltage probe with removable electrodes of different shapes and grounding means (wire, pin, clips). The flaw detector has low weight, small dimensions and autonomous power supply from built-in batteries. The control unit of the device is equipped with a bright light indicator and adjustable buzzer. The design of the device allows its is...
