The SEA 1845 is a tow-behind passenger boarding stairway manufactured by RTC LLC (Regionalny Tekhnicheskiy Tsentr), a Khabarovsk-based Russian developer and producer of specialized airport ground support equipment. Configured to serve aircraft with door sill heights from 1,900 to 4,500 mm, the unit is compatible with a wide range of aircraft types — from regional turboprops to narrowbody jets.
The staircase platform adjusts hydraulically between 2,100 and 4,000 mm, driven by an automatic electric pump with a manual hand-pump backup; a calibrated height scale and mechanical lock ensure precise, repeatable positioning at the cabin door. A towbar fitted with a loop connector accepts standard baggage tractor couplings and locks in the raised position for safe apron transit; the movement control panel is mounted on the towbar itself, allowing a single ramp agent to maneuver the stairway at up to 5 km/h and approach the aircraft from at least 10 metres.
The suspended front boarding platform (2,000 × 1,400 mm) is fitted with folding side handrails and accommodates up to 30 passengers simultaneously. Steps measure 300 × 1,120 mm with selectable incline angles of 21° or 38°.
Four stabilizing belts and hydraulic outriggers anchor the unit during boarding. Solid 4.00-8 rubber tyres eliminate puncture-related downtime, and the unit can be towed on the apron at up to 25 km/h.
An integrated electrical system provides a signal lamp and work lights for night operations. Power comes from a KIPOR diesel or LIFAN gasoline engine, with a total operating weight of 1,900 kg.
