The Mi-8AMTSh (configuration 8AMTSh-2004) is a military transport helicopter from the most produced helicopter family in history, engineered to move troops, cargo and equipment in demanding conditions. The aircraft carries a payload of up to 4,000 kg with a maximum takeoff weight of 13,000 kg, reaching speeds up to 250 km/h with a practical ceiling of 6,000 m and a range of 580 km on main fuel tanks.
The cargo cabin offers about 23 m³ of usable volume over 12.5 m² of floor area, accepting vehicles, palletized cargo, stretchers or personnel. The Mi-8 platform's defining commercial asset is its global ecosystem: thousands of airframes in service mean trained crews, spare parts and maintenance competence exist on every continent.
Procurement of such equipment is conducted under intergovernmental and licensed-export frameworks, with configuration, support packages and training agreed contractually. The type suits defense ministries and authorized government operators modernizing rotary transport capability.
