Gyrocompass PGM-V-024 with motion sensor of medium accuracy on the basis of fibre-optic gyroscopes is designed to determine the ship's course relative to the geographical meridian, rocking angles and to give the obtained data to external consumers. It is used on ships of various classes of commercial and passenger fleet, as well as on special purpose vessels.
The gyrocompass provides navigation information to the user at maximum ship speeds up to 70 knots, maximum trim and roll angles up to 45° and latitude up to 80°N and 80°S. The information is output as a digital signal to the required number of users.
The system produces the following data:
- Geographic course.
- Angles of pitch and roll.
- Angular velocities of roll and heading changes.
The gyrocompass is corrected using information from the ship's GPS/GLONASS receiver and the signal from the lag (pulse or NMEA 0183).
Equipment:
- Central Instrument (CI), Operator's console (OC)..
