Inverters are designed to supply responsible consumers of alternating current of industrial frequency 50, 60 Hz with a given quality of electricity as part of uninterruptible power supply systems, including computer complexes, automation devices, etc., as well as for power supply of consumers requiring a given quality of electricity.
The inverter consists of:
- an inverter that converts direct current into single-phase or three-phase current of high quality to supply the load;
- a static by-pass (electronic switch) that switches the load directly from the mains supply when the inverter is overloaded. It guarantees continuous power supply to the load. The static by-pass also includes high-frequency filters on the standby line and output;
- a standby line switch that allows the standby line to be disconnected from the static by-pass. This switch is also provided with fuses to protect the static switch's semiconductors from "short circuits."
