Linear pin insulators are designed for insulating and fixing wires on overhead power lines and in switchgear of power stations and substations of alternating current for voltage up to 20 kV inclusive and frequency up to 100 Hz, at ambient air temperature from -60 to +50 degrees Celsius. Depending on the insulator design, the wire can be fixed in the trough or on the neck of the insulator.
