The ADD-4004 I U1 (АДД-4004 ИУ1) is a self-contained diesel-powered welding aggregate manufactured by UZSNGU "ISKRA" LLC, a Russian specialist in welding equipment. Designed to power a single welding station for manual arc welding, cutting, and metal surfacing using direct current, this machine is built specifically for outdoor and field operations where grid power is unavailable.
The unit delivers a nominal welding current of 400 A at 36 V, with an adjustable range spanning 60 to 430 A to accommodate varied electrode sizes and base-metal thicknesses. Open-circuit voltage is capped at 90 V for operator safety.
Power comes from a Д-144 diesel engine rated at 37 kW (50 hp), running at 1,800 rpm with air cooling and a 60-litre onboard fuel tank; at rated load the engine consumes approximately 4.4 kg of fuel per hour. The machine operates at a 60% duty cycle within a standard 5-minute welding cycle.
Engineered for demanding climates, the aggregate functions reliably across a temperature envelope of −45 °C to +40 °C, tolerates relative humidity up to 75% at +15 °C, and handles elevations up to 1,000 m above sea level. Its integrated 1,670 × 950 × 1,200 mm engine-generator-welding power source architecture makes it independent of any external infrastructure, making it ideal for pipeline construction, remote industrial projects, and emergency repair work.
