The transport detector detects any mechanical vehicles in the controlled zones, and also calculates: road traffic intensity, vehicle composition, average speed of vehicles, average number of vehicles in motion, the average number of vehicles per kilometre of lane (traffic density), road capacity, average delay of vehicles in motion on the road section, time index, traffic service level, congestion index, buffer index. The detectors are designed to operate in stationary mode 24 hours 7 days a week; they are placed permanently on posts, supports and other structures
