The МОРЖ-650, supplied under the designation ЖВ-650, is a vacuum-type fat separator engineered and manufactured by YAMYA-ENGINEERING LLC — a Russian company with deep expertise in vacuum sanitation and wastewater systems for marine and shipbuilding applications. The unit is purpose-built to capture, accumulate, and discharge food fats, oils, and greases that grey water from galley sinks, laundry facilities, and other domestic sources carries through the shipboard vacuum sewer network.
By intercepting these contaminants at source, the separator prevents progressive pipeline blockages, protects downstream vacuum pump units and treatment plant, and eliminates the need for frequent unscheduled cleaning. With a tank volume of 0.65 m³ and a nominal throughput of 2.0 litres per second, the unit is well suited to mid-capacity catering and accommodation spaces.
The body and all wetted components are fabricated from corrosion-resistant 03Х17Н14М3 stainless steel (equivalent to AISI 316L), ensuring durability in the harsh marine environment. The МОРЖ-650 is delivered as a factory-assembled, pre-tested module comprising a control panel, fat-and-sludge extraction pump, level sensor, and an optional heating element — all mounted on a single frame with factory-fitted pipework and valves.
Semi-automatic operation and straightforward servicing minimise demands on crew. The compact footprint of 1386 × 980 × 1835 mm and a weight not exceeding 500 kg ease installation in confined machinery spaces.
Electrical protection to IP54 and a three-phase 380 V / 50 Hz supply suit standard shipboard power systems. The unit carries certification from the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (РМРС) and is rated for a service life of no less than 30 years.
