The UMP-400 Universal Motor Pre-heater is a self-contained mobile heating complex built on the Ural 4320-1912-60 all-terrain 6×6 truck chassis. Manufactured by Unisteam Steam Equipment Plant LLC in Miass, Chelyabinsk Region — a specialist in oilfield mobile heating technology — the unit delivers between 175 kW and 400 kW (0.344 Gcal/h) of thermal output, maintained automatically at a supply-air temperature of 110°C.
Two Italian BALTUR burners (220 V each) provide staged combustion on diesel fuel with consumption not exceeding 30 litres per hour, feeding the ВЦ14-46 centrifugal fan that moves 18,000 m³/h at 1,200 RPM and 1,200–1,600 Pa of duct pressure. Heat is distributed through twelve flexible hoses of 220 mm bore and 6,000 mm length via five independent outlets, enabling simultaneous pre-heating of multiple large diesel engines or pieces of equipment from a single unit.
The 350-litre on-board fuel tank provides more than ten hours of autonomous operation. The 40 mm-wall insulated metal-frame van body houses the heating assembly, a 1,500 W inverter, spark arrestor, on-board grounding reel, and fire extinguisher.
The Ural 4320-1912-60 base chassis features a 230 hp Euro-5 V6 diesel engine, a five-speed YaMZ-2361 mechanical gearbox, 6×6 permanent all-wheel drive, and 425/85 R21 all-terrain tyres — delivering full cross-country mobility to remote oilfield sites regardless of season. Climate rating is У per GOST 15150, confirming suitability for Russian continental conditions.
