Uninsulated wires are designed for transmission of electric energy in overhead power networks (power lines), used for operation on land in areas with temperate and cold climate. The wire consists of a steel core made of round steel galvanized wires of normal strength, coated with neutral grease of high heat resistance and insulated with two strips of polyethylene terephthalate film, and the current-carrying part of the wire made of round aluminium wires.
