Optical cable contains a dielectric power element and an outer sheath of optical modules. The total number of modules is up to 24. Each optical module has up to 36 optical fibres (OF). Optical modules can be replaced by corded fillers.
The total number of single-mode or multimode fibres in the cable is up to 288. Intramodule and intermodule space is filled with hydrophobic compound or other water-blocking material along the entire length. The cavity of optical modules and core-delta fillers is fixed by winding of glass fibre, textile or polymer threads or tapes. An inner sheath made of polyethylene or polymer compound is applied over the core.
Armour made of fibreglass rods is overlaid on top of the sheath. There can be several inner sheaths and armour strands. On top of the fibreglass armour there is an outer sheath made of polyethylene or polymer compound, which does not spread combustion in single or group laying
