The УНБТ-1180L1 is a three-piston single-acting drilling mud pump manufactured by Uralmash NGO Holding, one of Russia's foremost producers of oilfield drilling equipment. Rated at 1,180 kW, the pump drives three cylinders with a 290 mm piston stroke at up to 125 strokes per minute, delivering a maximum flow rate of 51.4 L/s at a peak discharge pressure of 35 MPa.
The suction manifold accommodates a nominal 250 mm bore and the discharge manifold 90 mm; minimum inlet pressure is 0.2 MPa. Outlet pressure non-uniformity does not exceed 5%, contributing to smooth downhole hydraulics.
The pump's gearbox housings are forged from high-strength alloy steel, and the gear transmission undergoes ion nitriding for extended wear resistance. A hydraulic seal isolates the cylinder-piston assembly, while a dual-chamber crosshead rod seal simultaneously protects the crankcase from drilling-fluid contamination and prevents oil loss.
Lubrication is supplied by two independent systems: a forced circuit maintaining constant oil pressure automatically, backed by a gravity-feed circuit from accumulation troughs — both independent of piston speed. A built-in safety valve automatically cuts the drive and relieves excess discharge pressure when the set limit is exceeded.
Suction and discharge manifolds can be connected from either or both sides of the machine, and the drive transmission can be arranged on one side, the other, or both, giving full flexibility for rig layout. Uralmash NGO Holding offers the УНБТ triplex series from 600 kW to 1,600 kW, with spare-parts support for earlier pump generations.
Operating weight (without flywheel and crane hook) is 22,325 kg.
