The DMR is used in drilling rigs having a chain in the rotor drive. The torque of the rotary table is determined by measuring the tension of the chain transmission by the DMR sensor, which is installed under the leading branch of the drive chain.
The principle of operation of the DMR is to measure the drive chain tension force by a primary strain gauge - force transducer. The force acting on the sprocket is transmitted to the force transducer via the traction pin. When the torque on the rotor changes, the drive chain tension changes, which changes the load on the sprocket, which acts on the force transducer via the springs. The digital signal of the DMR is received by the acquisition system of the GTI station.
It is used on drilling rigs of "Uralmash 3000EUK-1M" type.
