Three-Row Mounted Disc Harrow BDM Model BD-5.6x3

Three-row modernised disc harrow BDM with a bearing unit inside the disc sphere, with discs on an individual stand, with changing the angle of attack of discs synchronously in each row, designed for surface tillage to a depth of 17cm, weed killing and shredding crop residues. Due to uniform mixing of earth with crop residues, the disc harrow is effective on soils subject to wind and water erosion. Plant residues, evenly mixed with the topsoil, protect the soil from blowing and leaching and improve air exchange. At the same time, plant residues in the ground are actively transformed into humus, increasing soil fertility.
The three-row disc harrow is used in various agro-climatic zones of Russia, on all types of soils, except for stony soils. The three-row harrow can be effectively used for the introduction of fallow lands into the turnover, main and pre-sowing cultivation in the system of minimum tillage, rejuvenation of degrading meadows and pastures.
Features of 3-row harrows PM in comparison with 2- and 4-row harrows:
- Four-row harrows have a rather small distance between the rows - 675mm. This distance is limited by the possibilities of transporting all-frame structures to the customer. As a result, the soil thrown up by the front disc rows interferes with the work of the following disc rows. To avoid blockage of the implement, it is necessary either to reduce the speed or to reduce the working depth. With three-row implements, the distance between discs in a row has been reduced to 350mm, but the distance between rows has increased considerably, to 950mm. The working width for each disc and the overlap between discs in the three-row harrow is exactly the same as in the four-row harrow. Therefore, the three-row harrow, just like the four-row harrow, is able to work in fields with high weeds and to a greater depth.
- The distance between the first and last row on a three-row harrow is the same as on a four-row harrow. The long frame helps to smooth out small irregularities in the field. The three-row harrow is also an excellent planner, easily smoothing out pile ridges, mouldboard furrows, deep ruts, moleholes, etc. Thus, the three-row harrow is indispensable for the introduction of fallow land into circulation.
