Kurskhimvolokno LLC's textured polyamide (nylon) yarn is a high-volume, high-crimp filament engineered specifically for hosiery and knitted goods. Established in 1960 and part of the PAO KuibyshevAzot Group — Russia's largest producer of caprolactam and polyamide — the company has accumulated over six decades of specialisation in polyamide filament manufacturing, securing its position as the leading producer of polyamide textile yarns in Russia and the CIS.
The textured yarn is produced from pre-oriented or fully drawn polyamide precursor filaments (POY or FDY) via a draw-texturing process (DTY) that applies 2,500–5,000 twists per metre, followed by thermal fixation and controlled de-twisting. This imparts the yarn with a characteristic helical crimp, a loose and bulked structure, and pronounced elastic extensibility — qualities that distinguish it from flat multifilament and bring its handle closer to natural fibres.
Texturing also improves moisture-management and hygiene performance, making the yarn well suited to skin-contact articles. Kurskhimvolokno offers a catalogue of more than 100 product variants, and exports over 30 % of its total output to customers in Italy, Spain, Turkey, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Greece, the USA, Vietnam, Indonesia, Iran, and across the CIS.
