A piece of fabric with an image, usually trimmed at the edge with cord or piping. Has a cord along the top edge by which it is hung.
At the bottom may have a tassel, on the edge of the fringe. It may have a hard backing inside.
Advantages: strong, wear-resistant fabrics, threads, harmless dyes, laminated paper are used for manufacturing.
