Hydrogenerator is an electrical machine designed to generate electrical energy at a hydroelectric power plant. The energy of water masses at a hydroelectric power plant is converted by a hydro turbine into mechanical rotational energy, which is transferred to the rotor of the hydroelectric generator.
The Elektrosila plant as part of JSC Power Machines produces hydro generators with rotational speeds from 55 to 750 rpm and power from 3.8 to 640 MW. Hydrogenerators are one-off, not serial products due to the variety of rotational speeds and different number of poles.
Production of hydro-generator equipment includes manufacture of: stator; generator housing and auxiliary devices; rotor and poles; generator shaft; guide bearings NGP (lower generator bearing) and GGP (upper generator bearing); support bearing (thrust bearing); cooling system for bearings; generator cooling system; braking system; generator auxiliary electrical systems, including protection and signalling system, thermal control system.
