The GSD3-230/IT is a Type III (Class 3) surge protection device manufactured by HAKEL JSC (АО «Хакель»), a St. Petersburg-based Russian developer and manufacturer of overvoltage protection equipment operating under the Klyuchevoy Komponent brand.
The device is designed for installation at the boundary of lightning protection zones 2–3 in low-voltage networks up to 1000 V in compliance with GOST R 50571-4-44-2011, GOST R 50571.5.53-2013, and GOST IEC 61643-11-2013. Built around a combination of zinc-oxide varistors and a gas-filled spark gap, the two-pole unit protects phase conductors in L1/L2, L1/PE, and L2/PE paths for AC circuits and the equivalent poles in DC circuits.
Rated at 230 V AC (or 300 V DC), it handles a maximum impulse current of 15 kA (8/20 μs waveform) and provides a protection voltage level Up < 1.3 kV on the line-to-neutral path. The compact monoblock housing — just 18 mm wide, mounting on a standard 35 mm DIN rail — is moulded from flame-retardant polyamide PA66 rated UL94 V-0.
A green LED built into the thermal disconnector circuit gives instant visual confirmation of operational status, while dry-contact outputs (contacts 11–12) allow remote signalling to monitoring systems. The device is manufactured under TU 3428-002-79740390-2007 and the manufacturer holds ISO 9001, STO Gazprom, SIL 2, and SIL 3 quality and safety certifications.
