The Vyushka I is a Type I steel non-driven mooring and towing line reel manufactured by SSSR LLC (Судостроение Судоремонт), a Nizhny Novgorod-based shipbuilding company founded in 2015. Fabricated entirely from steel, it is a passive, brakeless deck fitting that stores and deploys mooring and towing ropes under manual control alone—a configuration valued for its straightforward installation, minimal deck footprint, and virtually maintenance-free operation over the vessel's service life.
The reel drum measures 210 × 220 mm and is rated for both steel wire rope (specific linear weight 0.8 kg/m) and natural fiber rope (1.6 kg/m), giving operators flexibility to use the same fitting with either rigging material depending on the vessel's task.
SSSR operates a certified in-house design bureau (KB USSR) and by 2020 had grown to over 146 employees while obtaining ISO 9001:2015 quality certification confirmed by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RMRS). The company holds a Russian Classification Society (RCO) recognition certificate for the manufacture of ship deck fittings and related hardware.
SSSR has been an approved supplier to Russia's United Shipbuilding Corporation since 2018 and holds exclusive representation for several international marine equipment manufacturers.
Vyushka I reels have been delivered as part of multi-item deck hardware packages for river and sea-going vessels, accompanied by full manufacturer and class-society documentation.
