The Spirit Tandem (Спирит-Тандем) is a complete tandem parachute rig manufactured by PARAAAVIS LLC, a Russian specialist in the design and production of sport, military, and professional parachute equipment. The system is engineered for training, operational, demonstration, and recreational tandem skydiving, supporting a combined flight mass of 190 to 220 kg.
The adjustable instructor harness accommodates jumpers from 160 to 200 cm tall, while the passenger harness connects via four carabiners and fits riders 145 to 200 cm tall and 48 to 120 kg. The system accepts main canopies of 320 to 400 ft² and reserve canopies of 290 to 336 ft², both of the ram-air (wing) type.
Deployment is initiated by a drogue stabilizing parachute and release link, with both primary and backup release handles; the drogue-link design allows simultaneous main canopy cutaway and KZU release during a malfunction. The rig is compatible with Cypres, Vigil, and similar automatic activation devices for reserve-deployment redundancy.
PARAAAVIS assigns a warranty resource of 200 jumps and an overall service life of 1,000 jumps, with a 20-year operational lifespan and mandatory condition inspections at 10 and 15 years. The system operates at temperatures from -40°C to +40°C and is qualified for jumps from fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters at airspeeds of 140 to 250 km/h.
