The "Morozko" Snow Sled with Backrest is a children's winter sled manufactured by the Saransk Mechanical Plant (ФКП "СМЗ"), a Federal State Enterprise founded in 1931 and awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class, for distinguished industrial output. Built for confident riding on snow-covered slopes with inclines up to 35 degrees, the sled steers via a pivoting front ski controlled by handlebars and stops with two fully independent foot brakes — one for each foot — giving the rider precise, individual-wheel control on descent.
The three-ski layout (one steerable front ski, two fixed rear skis) keeps the sled tracking smoothly through turns in both packed and fresh snow. A soft padded seat and an integrated backrest keep young riders comfortable and secure throughout the run, while a steering angle limiter prevents dangerous over-rotation.
The suspension system absorbs trail vibrations, smoothing out the ride on uneven terrain. At 880 × 240 × 530 mm and just 8 kg, the sled is light enough for a parent to carry back uphill between runs and compact enough to transport in a family car.
Steel structural members combined with plastic trim elements ensure the sled withstands the repeated impacts of a full winter season.
