Optical transceiver modules SFP form factor (abbreviated SFP modules or SFP transceivers) are widely used in fibre-optic communication lines (FOCL) to receive and transmit data between various communication devices: switches, routers, multiplexers and other network equipment. SFP modules provide conversion of the electrical signal from the network equipment into optical signals of a given wavelength and power, for its transmission over the FOCL, and the reverse conversion at the reception. SFP module is a printed circuit board in a compact metal case, equipped with a latch to securely fix the SFP module inside the communication equipment.
