The RSM-1401 is a self-propelled forage harvester for corn, sorghum and grass silage, powered by a 364 hp engine with a structural weight of 10,600 kg and throughput up to 170 tonnes per hour. Self-propelled foragers are the productivity backbone of livestock agriculture: silage quality is decided in a narrow harvest window, and a machine of this output clears hundreds of hectares within it, chopping crops to the uniform particle size on which feed digestibility and silo compaction depend.
The RSM platform comes from Rostselmash, the dominant harvester builder of the CIS, which means service practices and operator experience are widespread across the machine's natural export geography. As a single capital unit at 90,000 dollars, the harvester addresses large livestock farms, agro-holdings, machinery contractors and dealers.
Growing dairy and beef herds across developing agricultural regions are pushing demand for self-propelled forage capacity at accessible price points.
