SCADA «KASKAD» is a flexible, scalable industrial automation software package developed by CASCADE-GROUP LLC (NPO Kaskad-GRUP), headquartered in Cheboksary, Chuvash Republic, Russia. Recognized as Russia's first native 64-bit SCADA platform, it targets automated process control systems (APCS), energy metering and management systems, and supervisory control and data acquisition applications across industrial production, power generation, and municipal utilities.
The system runs on Windows 7 through 11 and Windows Server 2012–2019, as well as certified Russian Linux distributions — Astra Linux Special Edition (versions 1.7 and 1.8), RED OS 7.3 and 8, and ALT Linux 10/11 — each covered by dedicated compatibility certificates. On the communications side, SCADA «KASKAD» supports Modbus RTU/TCP/ASCII, IEC 870-5-101/103/104, IEC-61850, DNP3, SNMP, MQTT, IEEE C37.118 synchrophasor measurements, and ICCP/TASE.2, along with OPC DA 2.0/3.0, OPC HDA, and OPC UA.
Databases supported include MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebird, and Russian-certified equivalents Red BD and Postgres Pro.
Operators work through a single unified Russian-language HMI that merges real-time mnemonic process diagrams, alarm management with SMS and email alerts, historical trend analysis, and scheduled report generation — all from one workspace. The KWebVision web module extends supervision to any browser without client software installation.
The product is included in the Russian Software Registry (entry No. 1059, effective 1 June 2016) and holds a GOST compliance certificate (No.
12.0001.1974, valid through May 2027).
