The hardware and software complex "Thistle" is designed to receive and process digital information transmitted from artificial Earth satellites in low-Earth orbits via X-band radio channels. The station provides stable reception of signals in the entire upper hemisphere (from 10 degrees elevation) from a wide range of satellites with optical and radar equipment providing images with spatial resolution up to 1 m and better.
The station control software performs a fully automated station cycle without operator intervention.
