Detectable gas - Methane (CH4) and gases containing methane. Principle of operation - absorption spectroscopy method based on TDLAS frequency tunable diode laser. Measurement method - analysis of reflected laser radiation to determine the degree of its absorption by methane along the course of the laser beam. Detection range (CH4) - from 0 to 99999 ppm*m.
Measurement error +/- 10%. Description of operation. ALMA emits laser radiation with a wavelength of 1.35 nm. The laser beam is directed at a given object, partially absorbed by the gas and then completely reflected back into the radiation receiver.
The reflected laser radiation is received and converted into an electrical signal that carries the necessary information about the relative concentration of methane. The reading is presented as the density of methane in the gas layer (ppm*m). It is the integral concentration of methane (ppm) along the length of the optical path (m).
