Raw cotton twill fabric Art. С 10 БЮ is a loomstate (greige) heavy-duty woven fabric manufactured by АО БМК «Меланжист Алтая» (Barnaul Textile Mill «Melanzhist Altaya»), the only producer of cotton and blended fabrics east of the Urals.
Founded in 1934, the mill operates with a fully integrated production cycle — from cotton yarn spinning through weaving to finishing — across more than 200,000 m² of production floor in Barnaul, Altai Region, turning out over 8 million linear meters of fabric per year with a workforce of 1,100 people.
The fabric is woven in a 2/2 twill pattern from 100% cotton yarns and supplied in its natural, undyed state, making it ideal for downstream processors who require a clean base for dyeing, bleaching, or specialty treatments. Two surface-density variants are available: 220 ± 11 g/m² and 260 ± 13 g/m², both 150 ± 2 cm wide.
Minimum breaking load is 549 N on the warp and 500 N on the weft. The yarns are mercerized, which raises inherent luster, tensile strength, and dye affinity relative to untreated cotton.
Primary end uses include work gloves and protective mittens, industrial bags and sacks, as well as a broad range of technical textile applications where a robust, natural-fibre base material is required.
