It is used to measure relative air humidity and ambient temperature. Hygrometer consists of a plastic base, on which are fixed temperature scale with two capillaries, the reservoir of one of which is moistened by a special wick of cloth, dropped into the feeder with water, and psychrometric table to determine the relative humidity of the air on the difference between the readings of "dry" and "moistened" thermometers.
The feeder is fixed on the inside of the plastic base. The thermometric liquid is toluene.
