The simulator represents the lower torso of an elderly person, allows to demonstrate and practice cleaning wounds, to classify them, to determine the stages of ulceration, to measure the length and depth of wounds, the degree of tissue loss and the formation of tunnels.
The following disorders are presented:
decubitus ulcer on the left sciatic bone (stage I);
decubitus ulcer on the left thigh (stage II);
infected ulcer on the right thigh (stage III);
decubitus ulcer over the sacral region with necrotic tissue (stage IV).
Deep tissue injury, wound with dead tissue, and wound with opening are also present on the simulator.
The trainer is made of material that visually and palpatorily imitates human body tissues.
The simulator is designed to improve the efficiency of training of students, residents and practitioners in certification and accreditation.
