The FUTURA-5F.12*70 is a twelve-row pneumatic precision seeder built for sowing grain crops — wheat, rye, barley, and oats — as well as legumes such as peas, beans, and lentils, with simultaneous fertilizer placement in a single pass. Manufactured by MASCAR SpA, an Italian specialist in precision planting and haymaking equipment based in Vicenza, the Futura-5 series has become a benchmark for row-crop seeding on well-prepared arable land.
The 5F frame configuration sets twelve seeding elements at 70 cm spacing across a 9 m working width. Each row unit features a low distributor with a shoe-type opener — maintaining consistent furrow depth on moist or compacted ground — and a 1.2 mm stainless steel sowing disc with a bronze selector for reliable single-seed metering.
Seeding depth is set by a lever with a graduated indicator; progressive dual-spring weight regulation on the parallelogram element keeps the opener pressed firmly into varying soils. A standard row-exclusion device lets the operator shut off individual rows at headlands without seed waste.
The machine attaches via three-point linkage, runs from a 540 rpm PTO (1,000 rpm optional), and weighs 2,540 kg at the 12-row configuration. Overall dimensions are 1,900 × 9,000 × 1,530 mm.
A dual 2×227 L fertilizer system applies granular fertilizer alongside the seed furrow, while a 15 L stainless steel microgranulator delivers starter nutrients or insecticide granules precisely at seeding depth.
