Pipeline protection device against induced alternating current (UZT), designed for continuous long-term withdrawal of alternating current (up to 40A or 80A, maximum withdrawable current of 50 Hz during 1 s. not less than 400A), induced as a result of electromagnetic influence of high-voltage power lines and other sources of high voltage.
The UZT is an element of the system of electrochemical protection (ECP) of pipelines against corrosion. The UZT does not affect the protective potential of the pipeline EHS (it prevents leakage of the protective potential of the EHS through the grounding of the UZT, the leakage current is not more than 0.1 A) and allows measuring the diverted alternating current.
The UZT is protected against impulse overvoltages by a lightning protection device for impulse current up to 100 kA.
