The optical cable contains a dielectric central power element and an outer web of optical modules. The total number of modules is up to 24. Each optical module has up to 24 optical fibres (OF).
Optical modules can be replaced by cordel fillers made of glass or polymer yarns insulated with polyethylene or polymer. The total number of single-mode or multimode optical fibres in the cable is up to 288. Intramodule and intermodule space is filled with hydrophobic compound or other water-blocking material along the entire length.
The core is bound by a polyethylene terephthalate tape secured by a winding of glass fibre, textile or polymer filaments or tapes. The core may be covered with a woven peripheral force element made of aramid or glass fibre. An outer sheath made of polyethylene or polymer compound not spreading combustion, single or group laying
