The optical cable contains a core of modular construction consisting of a central force element in the form of a fibreglass rod or a galvanised steel wire or a steel cable in a polyethylene sheath or a galvanised steel wire in a polyethylene sheath, around which optical modules are twisted and, if necessary, polymer cordel fillers made of glass or polymer filaments insulated with polyethylene or polymer. Within the optical modules, optical fibres are arranged in a number of up to 24 optical fibres.
The total number of optical fibres in the cable is up to 288. Intramodule and intermodule space is filled with hydrophobic compound or other water-blocking material along the entire length.
On top of the core there is a binding winding made of glass fibres, textile or polymer threads and an outer polymer sheath made of polyethylene or polymer compound, which does not spread combustion in single or group laying
