The cables contain a central power element (CPE) made of fibreglass,
optical modules with fibres and cordels are twisted around the CSE, an outer sheath of polyethylene in the form of a figure-of-eight is applied over the twisted core.
The free space in the optical modules is filled with hydrophobic filler.
Water-blocking threads are wrapped over the CSE.
The intermodular space is filled with hydrophobic filler or a water-blocking tape is applied over the twisted optical modules and cordels.
A steel cable is used as a peripheral force element.
