Description

The controller is the key element of a solid state drive regardless of its form factor. It provides read, write, data integrity and bit error correction functions for the NAND flash memory structure. The controller's firmware (FPGA) implements algorithms that translate the drive's logical addresses into physical addresses of the NAND flash array, wear levelling, monitoring and replacing faulty blocks.
