Metal-ceramic brake lining is a metal base with a metal-ceramic friction layer baked to it. The friction layer is produced by powder metallurgy from metallic and non-metallic powders.
It is used in braking systems of railway rolling stock with disc brakes and a maximum operating speed of 200 km/h. Brake lining is used to provide the necessary braking efficiency in pair with a brake disc made of steel.
It has a stable coefficient of friction in a wide range of loads and temperatures, as well as in wet friction (rain, snow).
