Linear displacement converters PLP are designed for continuous automatic measurement of linear distance from the initial reference point to one or more movable positioners, with conversion of linear displacement value into electrical signals of standard analogue or digital interfaces. PLDs are used for precise liquid level measurement, continuous positioning of moving units of various mechanisms and machines.
When using PLDs for liquid level measurement, floats are used as movable positioners. Determination of the exact position of the moving object consists in precision measurement of the time interval between the pulse formation into the excitation coil and digitisation of the magnetostrictive pulse of elastic deformation received by the piezoelectric receiver, with subsequent software processing.
