Low pressure heaters are designed for regenerative heating of condensate mainly at condensation of steam from turbine off-takes, as well as at cooling of superheated steam and condensate and depending on the thermal scheme of the turbine unit. Condensation of heating steam on the heater tubes occurs at saturation temperature corresponding to the steam pressure in its vapour space. Temperature head (underheating of water) is the main criterion of heater efficiency.
