The JL28250 is a 250 W ozone-free bactericidal amalgam low-pressure lamp designed for industrial UV water disinfection systems. Manufactured by Alexandra-Plus LLC in Vologda, Russia — a company specializing in ultrasound and UV technologies with government-backed production funding from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade — this lamp represents a next-generation alternative to conventional mercury lamps.
The bulb is made from doped quartz glass that blocks the ozone-forming 185 nm mercury emission line, making the lamp safe for enclosed installations without additional ventilation. The inner surface carries a protective metal-oxide coating that limits UV-C flux decay to no more than 15% over the rated service life of 13,000 hours, significantly lowering the total cost of ownership for disinfection system operators.
Lead-in wires are manufactured from molybdenum, whose thermal expansion coefficient closely matches quartz glass, minimizing mechanical failure risk under thermal cycling. At the start of service, UV-C output at 254 nm reaches 90 W, with a lamp current of 3.2 A and a bulb length of 1,220 mm.
The lamp operates from 220 V / 50 Hz AC via an electronic ballast (EPRA) and is a direct analogue of the ДБ 300Н type. The JL28250 is confirmed Russian-origin and is listed in both the Russian Industrial Products Registry (PP RF 719) and the Unified Russian Radio-Electronics Products Registry (PP RF 878), registry number 10585297.
