The KAVZ-4270-82 is the flagship low-floor urban bus produced by KAVZ LLC (Kurgan Bus Plant), one of Russia's leading manufacturers of city and suburban passenger vehicles and a member of GAZ Group, the country's foremost commercial vehicle holding. The -82 designation identifies the compressed natural gas variant, powered by the YAMZ-53654 engine delivering 154 kW, paired with an automatic gearbox for smooth stop-and-go performance.
Developed in 2020 and in series production from 2021, the bus measures 10,340 × 2,500 × 3,570 mm on a 4,900 mm wheelbase, with a gross vehicle weight of 17.4 tonnes and a curb weight of 10.7 tonnes. Total passenger capacity reaches 90 (28 fixed seats plus the driver and standing passengers), or 83 when a wheelchair space is occupied.
A wide accumulation platform accommodates a wheelchair and a pushchair simultaneously. The KAVZ-4270-82 fully satisfies Russia's Accessible Environment (Dostupnaya Sreda) programme: step-free entry, fold-down boarding ramps, and designated wheelchair bays deliver barrier-free compliance as standard.
The driver's workstation features a pneumatic air-cushion seat, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, and hydraulic power-assisted steering. Pneumatic brakes and 275/70 R22.5 tyres ensure confident handling.
Available options include electronic route displays, contactless fare validators, USB charging ports, a 360-degree video surveillance system, air conditioning, and a multiplex onboard diagnostics network for real-time monitoring of key vehicle systems.
