SGCI meters are designed to measure the volume of natural gas, vapour phase of liquefied hydrocarbon gas and other non-aggressive gases passed through the meters during accounting and technological operations.
The principle of operation is based on the effect of oscillation of the measured medium jet when it flows through the jet autogenerator, which is a bistable jet element covered by feedbacks, providing the auto-oscillation mode. Gas flowing through the flow sensor jet generator generates acoustic oscillations in it with a frequency proportional to the gas flow rate. The acoustic oscillations arrive at the piezo element where they are converted into an electrical signal. The electrical signal goes to the analogue-to-digital converter board, which amplifies the signal, generates counting pulses, counts them, converts the received number of pulses into the value of the volume of the passed gas and displays this value on the liquid crystal display (hereinafter referred to as the display).
